Çukurova Regional Airport will be constructed with Build-Operate-Transfer model. It will be the second airport all of which has been made by the private sector. The construction will be completed in 36 months. Construction tender of Çukurova Regional Airport has begun which has been organized by State Airports Authority. This airport is planned to be one of the two airports with a capacity of 30 million passengers, a 2023-year targets of Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications.
The tender was organized at the General Directorate of State Airports Authority and 19 firms took specification. Sky Line Aviation, a joint venture of Zonguldak Civil Aviation Inc., is one of them.
Çukurova Regional Airport, planned to be constructed in conventional dimensions to serve Mersin - Adana and Çukurova region, will be built with the Build-Operate-Transfer model. It will be the second airport all of which has been made by the private sector. The construction will be completed in 36 months.
Within the scope of Build-Operate-Transfer model, Çukurova Regional Airport, in which closed offer is issued, is expected to be won by a company offering the least the duration of operation.
Upon signing the contract and delivery of the area, the company will complete the construction in 36 months. Then operation time will begin. When this duration of operation is also over, the operation will be transferred to the administration. The airport lease auction to be made after the transfer of the tender will be won by the firm offering the highest bid for the lease.
An area of over 8 million square meters is confiscated for the construction of Çukurova Regional Airport.
